Background

I am a licensed lawyer, member of the Bucharest Bar, with a consolidated professional experience in the legal field, especially in maritime law, civil and commercial law and legal consultancy for companies. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with clients in Romania and abroad, managing complex cases, which required a strategic vision, a good knowledge of international law and a deep understanding of the economic and commercial context.

I graduated the Law Faculty of the Bucharest University in 1999 and subsequently, in 2004, I graduated the Finance and Insurance Banking, and Stock Exchange Faculty of Academy of Economic Studies Bucharest.

Bogdan Slatineanu has a PhD in Law, a title given by the Romanian Academy, the highest forum of science and culture in Romania, with a project in the field of Maritime Insurance. After graduating he started my professional career in law firms focused on commercial litigation and legal consultancy, gaining experience in drafting and negotiating contracts, dispute resolution and legal risk management for companies and individuals.

Specializing in maritime law came naturally, out of a desire to delve deeper into a technical and highly complex field where few lawyers choose to really get involved. I have participated in specialized courses, represented clients before port and maritime authorities as well as before the competent courts in cases concerning maritime transport, damage, incidents at sea, insurance and carriers’ liability.
